I am a fan of google docs. I use google docs now and than. I just love it !!! Google docs has always helped me in keeping my documents online. So no matter wherever i am, i can always see my docs.Yesterday there was a need arised to download all my documents form google docs. But it is a really very tedious task to download it one by one. Then i did some R&D, and i got a very good solution ! This article is just about it how i had found the solution and what is it. This is for all who don't know the solution to download all the docs in just a min !!! I wish that people and my all friends will not have to do much hard work, they can easily do it just by reading this article. Hope this will help you !!!

Google Docs doesn't provide you a way to export/download all your files at once. But if you use Firefox, there is a Greasemonkey script that creates a page with links to downloadable versions of your documents and spreadsheets.

To do all these you require two extensions first :

  • Install Greasemonkey
  • Install DownThemAll
  • tmp76
  • After installing the extensions and restarting the browser, add this script
  • Go to Google Docs
  • There you will be able to see a new link at the top of the page like Download and a drop-down from which you can choose the format for the exported files.
  • Then right-click and select ‘DownThemAll’, check "All files", choose the output folder and click on "Start".
  • If some of the files fail to download, select them and click "Resume" in the download window.

It will look like the following image :

3)It also provides Search Engine Optimization - It is 100% Search Engine Friendly, Google SiteMap support.

And every shop can have there own billing system. Thus through this mulitple shop feature, magento has acccumulated and lured people praise!

Learning Joomla

One of the best advantage of Joomla is it provides platform where multi- vendor can make there shops/websites, having one admin(billing counter).

Joomla - A great open source framework and Content Management System through which one can create a highly interactive website having following features:
  • Multilingual website
  • Online communities
  • Media portals
  • blogs
  • eCommerce Application
While talking about joomla, how one can forget to talk about VirtuMart - An eCommerce component.

Following are the best video example for joomla and Virtuemart :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdo2xRARh5M

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m84gwIzsvCI

Joomla Benefit :

  • One of the best advantage of Joomla is that it provides platform where multi vendors can have their website/shops, having one unique admin/billing counter.
  • In simple term, one can say that its just the case of BigBazar, where there are mulitple stores, but for one brand there is only one shop.

Limitations:

  • One of the limitation of Joomla - it dont provide platform of multiple seller having one brand and having different billing counter for different website/shops.
  • So, for example : One wanted to make such a website where there are mulitple seller for one brand it is not possbile with Joomla.

Finally MBA

13 Feb, 2008, was an honorable day & the most important day for me because i got MBA's result. And i had cracked !!! You know I was completely in dilemma whether i will pass or not. Because the passing rate was too high. And last semester was too tough. While opening up my result, my heart beats became very high. And as soon as i have opened up result, my eyes were just located in the last column of the marksheet. Last  column contains summary of what my result is all about! That means that last column tells that ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’. And what i was looking !!! Was simply Great!!!  I have seen that besides every subject, it was written as 'PASS'. Wooo hoooo! I was so glad, because the dream which i used to see,to pass MBA(ICFAI) finally became true in reality..It wasn’t an easy stuff because i passed it, in just 2 years, Although the course was for 2.9 months. So, apparently i saved 9 months. Few people are there who has passed their MBA in just 2 years.!!! And i liked to be one of them!!!

Finally i got satisfied when result was on my hand. Because i really did what was my desire.
Still i remember that day, i had taken an oath to complete MBA in 2 years!. And it was a great job to complete MBA from ICFAI University(Hydrabad) in just 2 years, when it was a course of 2.9 years.

Now, i have done as per what i have committed to my self in the past, earning two degrees simultaneously. And after getting degree as MBA,(IT & Systems) I have been given a good opportunity in my company(www.indianic.com), a very good position, to leverage my skills into Technology + Business. So, going one step ahead from technology. I was wondered when this opportunity was given infront of me. And decided to grab the opportunity. Well, i am working as a Business Analyst. This was a great challenge for me. So i am harnessing my skills into field of 'Technocrate'.

Windows Washer – “PCDoctor” - At rescue !!!

Yesterday I was worrying about the “Health” - Speed of my pc. It was running a little bit slow, what is expected out of it!! Although my PC has 1 GB RAM and Dual Core , it was too slow. It was really boredom to work with my computer. Eventually I came across with great software “Windows Washer”. It is really awesome software I have ever used!!

When I wash my computer w/ “Windows Washer”, I was astonishing when I saw my computer’s performance fast!! I mean it was able to cope with at least my speed of opening the applications. There is ample number of reasons behind it.

  • It eliminates useless files that clog hard disk.
  • It acts just like an eraser for unnecessary internet files.
  • It deletes various unnecessary files which are created by using internet, some files which are created automatically by computer while opening applications.
  • It improves computer performance by deleting files
  • It is Award wining software!
  • It safely erases internet tracks, programs history etc.
  • It gives various options from where we can delete temporary files.

Before using this I was used to delete files manually from Temporary folder by writing in Start-> Run-> %temp%. And then temporary folder would open. Then I select all files and then ctrl+alt+del. :).  But i was really tedious task!! And thus by doing this i was thinking that i m getting rid of temporary files.!!! :). I realized that it was so easy to use this software and i can just get rid of all unnecessary files from my whole computer, by merely clicking on “Wash” button in the software!!!!

Thanks a ton to “Windows Washer”!! You really helped me. Now, i am cool! And i can work very fast with the improved performance of my computer.

I have had very good experienced with “Widows Washer”. At least once you all should use it. Thus i have harness the power of “Windows Washer”!!! :) It is really worth to use !

It is freely available at Webroot website.

Tesco - A World famous Retailer...

steering-wheellarge

While discussing about grocery market in UK, we cant forget the popular name Tesco. Well, I know you will first think about Tesco - One of the giant retailer in UK. There were also well-known grocery stores named Sainsbury’s, Ads, Safeway, Somerfield, Kwik Save, but Tesco led always first amongst all. A Vibrant person named Jack Cohen founded Tesco in 1919 using his bonus form World War I army service. In 1924, Cohen bought a tea shipment from TE Stockwell. The First three letters of ‘TE Stockwell’ and the first two letters of ‘Cohen’ were used to make up the name ‘Tesco’. Jack was influenced by the supermarket culture in America and tried to introduce the concept in the UK. Through this philosophy “Pile it high and sell it cheap”, Tesco has achieved pillars of success, and went public. Tesco was one of the first self-service supermarket.

  • By the time, Tesco acquired several companies like Burnards, Williamsons,John Irwins, Victor Value and thus contributed a larger share in grocery market.

Tesco’s Way

Strategies at Tesco:

How Strategic Wheel helped Tesco?

  • This balanced scoreboard was nothing but a management tool that directed the focus of business initiative on delivering the core purpose of Tesco.
  • It had brought together Tesco’s world in all areas.
  • It had acted as a gauge the performance.
  • ‘Steering Wheel’ was aimed at to change organizations from being financially driven to mission driven.. It has four quandrants.
  • Tesco way – One in the front
  • Clubcard concept
    • helped to know Customers’ preferences and Location for store. One of the first loyalty scheme introduced by Tesco in the UK, a card with a magnetic strip. The card was given to all Tesco customers. For 1$ spent, the cardholders were given 1 point. Ever quarter Tesco calculated the points accumulated by the customers and mailed them the vouchers. Thus Tesco come to know the customers’ preferences.
  • No one tries harder for customer
    • To enable customer with a better shopping experience it had made special parking areas for mothers with newborn kids and packing the customers bags to reduce waiting time in the queue.
  • Listening to Customer – ‘Value Line’, ‘One in the front scheme’
    • After listening customers for too much waiting times at the check-out counters, it had introduced this scheme, aimed at minimizing customers waiting time.

SWOT Analysis:

Strengths:

  • Tesco competed only on price because goods available at Tesco store were perceived to be of mediocre quality.
  • Steering Wheel which was based on ‘Balanced Scoreboard’ a concept introduced by Dr.Robert S. Kalpan and Dr. David P. Nortan in an article published in Harvard Business Review in 1992.

Weaknesses overcome by Tesco:

  • With the rising income levels, customer all over Britain were turned to high and luxury merchandise. So, Paying heed at customer demand, Tesco closed down some of its stores to concentrate on larger stores with better facilities.
  • Tesco went for revamp of its product portfolio. And came up with wider range of qualified goods.

Contemplation from my side:

  • I will called Steering Wheel – as the best strategy of Tesco which had steered the company to reach at the acme of a
  • I will call this Steering Wheel as a ‘Virtuous Circle’.
  • Tesco -  customer-focused business, earned a lot of laurel from customer through out the world.
  • Tesco – A Leading Retailer,  had really earned lifetime loyalty of customer by creating value for them.
  • Tesco’s strategy of giving respect, value and importance was fantastic.

My Salute to Tesco. :)
